11.10.08 Rhamnus tasty fruits, Ramot Menashe

On a nice journey to Ramot Menashe, we came across this magnificent giant pyramidal Cupressus (ברוש), apparently showing a special mixed phenotype.
Later on, we spent some time eating tasty but tiny Rhamnus fruits (אשחר). Which picture do you prefer?

Such a beautiful little fruit! I like the first version of the photo -- in full color. I've never eaten any Rhamnus fruits, but I've seen a native species (Rhamnus californica) growing in the coastal forests of northern California, and the shrub is quite handsome.
